The two sculptors were working on separate parades. They were curious to explore a collaboration: Could their parades fit together? Their figurative work seemed to be dipping into the same imagistic well, but what really did they have in common? Should they exhibit two separate parades? Could they merge into one?
Collaboration often takes us in new directions. This one surprisingly fell into place like a dance party, with each of Van Fleet's wooden creatures partnering with one of Moss' ethereal white paper beings, often in wonderfully evocative pairings that suggest play, dance, love, solidarity, confrontation, even danger.
Come take a look, it is a Parade.
